1.25" L-eXtreme Deep-Sky Light Pollution Filter

The L-eXtreme is a two-band filter and the ideal choice for strong suppression of light pollution. It enables astrophotos of objects with narrow-band emissions in the O-III and H-alpha lines out of the city.

• Professional photographic filter for astronomy
• Enhances the photographs of emission nebulae in the city
• Ideal for extreme suppression of light pollution
• Allows astrophotography even from bright cities
• Dual-band filter with high transmission for O-III + H-alpha
• Does not require extremely expensive, but powerful telescopes

L-eXtreme filter for deep-sky fog photography out of the city
The steady expansion of cities and the associated light pollution have become a growing problem for all astrophotographers. Common solutions to this can be expensive and include the purchase of a monochrome camera, various types of narrowband filters, and a filter wheel. Especially with inexpensive but powerful Newtonian telescopes, two-lens ED refractors or even achromatic lenses, the L-eXtreme filters open up completely new possibilities for taking high-quality astronomical images even within light-polluted cities. CMOS cameras can thus deliver images like monochrome cameras. This new generation of filters enables amazing astrophotos directly from the heavily light-polluted city with all its artificial light sources. The double narrow bandpass for the wavelengths of O-III and H-alpha and the almost complete attenuation of the interfering light sources by these new filters make them an ideal solution.

L-eXtreme description
L-eXtreme is a 7nm narrow dual bandpass filter that can be used with one-shot color cameras such as DSLRs (digital single-lens reflex cameras), color CMOS and monochrome CCD cameras. The simplicity and cost-effectiveness of this filter allows amateurs to image the faintly glowing emission nebulae, even in bright, heavily light-polluted skies. The L-eXtreme filter is the better choice for fast optical systems at a competitive price. The filter isolates the H-Alpha and O-III emission lines from nebulae so that the contrast and signal-to-noise ratio between the nebula and the background are maximized. The design of our L-eXtreme filter is a technical innovation among filters. For astronomers who live in heavily light-polluted areas.

Main application and performance
This new generation of filters enables amazing astrophotos directly in the light-polluted city with all its artificial light sources. The narrow bandpass for the wavelengths of O-III and H-alpha and the almost complete attenuation of the interfering light sources do not require very large or extremely expensive telescopes. No, especially with inexpensive but powerful Newtonian telescopes, double-lens ED refractors or even achromatic lenses, these filters open up completely new possibilities for recording high-quality astronomical images. In addition, with the help of these filters, CMOS color cameras can deliver an image quality that approaches that of CCD monochrome cameras.

WARNING: These nebulae filters are not suitable for solar observation. DO NOT LOOK AT THE SUN WITH THIS FILTER. You will go BLIND if you don't heed this warning.

Coating technology
Multi-layer anti-reflective coating of the optical substrate. The L-eXtreme filter uses a precision coating based on ion-assisted deposition coating technology to ensure durability and scratch resistance, as well as stability on CWL (central wavelength) that is not affected by temperature changes. Absolute precision and homogeneity of the coatings as well as maximum values for the transmission in the passband and the optical density in the off-band area are guaranteed for all filters.
