Folsom Lake is a 11,450-acre reservoir in El Dorado, Placer, and Sacramento Counties, California, on the American River east of Sacramento, reaching a maximum depth of 210 feet. The lake supports outstanding fishing for Rainbow Trout, King Salmon, Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass, Spotted Bass, Catfish, and Panfish. Folsom Lake State Recreation Area is one of California's most-visited parks, drawing nearly 4 million visitors annually.
