Little Turtle Lake is a 469-acre lake in Beltrami County, Minnesota, reaching a maximum depth of 25 feet. Part of the 11-lake Turtle River Chain, it is connected to Big Turtle Lake and Movil Lake via the Turtle River. Anglers target northern pike, walleye, largemouth bass, bluegill, crappie, and yellow perch, with special regulations in place for sunfish and pike to protect the fishery.
Located 10 miles north of Bemidji in Beltrami County, Little Turtle Lake offers a quiet, less-trafficked alternative to the busier lakes of the region. The lake is accessible primarily by small boat via the Turtle River from Big Turtle Lake, or by carry-in at the Aquatic Management Area on the east shore. Bemidji, the first city on the Mississippi River, is nearby and offers dining, shopping, Bemidji State University, and the Headwaters Science Center.
A laser-cut wooden map of Little Turtle Lake is a one-of-a-kind piece of wall art and a perfect gift for anyone with a love of Minnesota lake country. The natural wood top layer captures the lake's intricate shoreline and river connections in fine detail, while the light-to-dark blue gradient water layers bring out the depth and character of this Northwoods gem. Display it in a cabin, living room, or office for a handcrafted conversation piece that celebrates your time on the water.
