Rosso Levanto marble, 52 inches long

This rectangular wall-mount sink is carved from Rosso Levanto marble quarried in Turkey. The stone has deep burgundy tones crossed by white veining, and the pattern is different on every piece, formed in the rock long before it was cut. It measures 20 inches wide, 52 inches long and 5 inches high, a long single basin with room for two people to use it at once. Each sink is made by hand from natural marble, so the veining, the depth of the red and the way the white lines run will never match another sink exactly.

One long basin in deep red

The 52 inch length gives the sink the capacity of a double vanity in one piece of stone, without a joint down the middle. The polished finish deepens the burgundy and makes the white veining stand out, and it helps the surface shed water marks. The shape is a clean rectangle with straight lines, which keeps the attention on the marble itself. At 5 inches high, the basin is shallow but long, with plenty of water capacity. Moderate color variation between pieces is normal: some sinks carry more white veining, some lean darker, and that individuality is how the stone shows it is real.

Hung on the wall or set on a vanity

Hung on the wall, the sink removes the visual bulk of a vanity or pedestal. The floor stays visible, the bathroom feels larger and more open, and cleaning underneath is easier, with no base for dust to gather around. That suits a primary bath planned around a minimal design, where a long red basin can act as the main feature of the room. The same sink can also sit on top of a vanity. It takes a standard 1.5 inch drain, so it often works with existing plumbing, and whether the pipes run inside the wall or stay exposed depends on the room.

Reinforce the wall first

A marble sink this long is heavy, and the weight has to be spread correctly. A wall-mount installation needs reinforced backing, with blocking between the studs at the mounting height, and a bracket system set level and secure. The faucet, usually wall-mounted for a sink like this, should be placed early so its spout height and reach suit the basin and the supply lines can be roughed in to match. On a vanity, the top must be flat, level and strong. This is not a do-it-yourself project; a professional installer is recommended.

Care

Rosso Levanto is a porous calcite marble, so acids such as vinegar or citrus can etch the polished surface and spills can stain it if left to sit. Sealing protects the deep red finish, and how often it is resealed depends on use, commonly once a year.
