Lake Mohawksin in Lincoln County, Wisconsin
This lake has 8 Layers or 15 Layers for HD Version
Lake Mohawksin is a 1,515-acre reservoir on the Wisconsin River in Lincoln County, formed by the Tomahawk Dam located just one mile south of the city of Tomahawk. Its name is a creative blend of the last syllables of the three rivers that feed it — the Somo, the Tomahawk, and the Wisconsin — chosen through a public naming contest in 1926. The lake reaches a maximum depth of 25 feet and supports outstanding fishing for Northern Pike, Walleye, and Muskellunge, with six public boat landings providing easy access around the reservoir.
Situated in the heart of Wisconsin's northwoods lake country, Lake Mohawksin is anchored by the city of Tomahawk on its northern end — a classic Wisconsin river town known for its strong outdoor recreation heritage and annual Hodag Festival ties to the broader Rhinelander area. The surrounding Lincoln County landscape of pine forests, rivers, and hundreds of lakes makes this corner of north-central Wisconsin a beloved destination for anglers, boaters, and cabin owners from across the region.
A laser-cut wooden map of Lake Mohawksin makes a distinctive and storied piece of wall art for any northwoods Wisconsin cabin, lake home, or Wisconsin River corridor retreat. The natural wood top layer traces the winding, river-formed shoreline of this beloved Lincoln County reservoir in fine detail, while the light-to-dark blue gradient layers capture its broad, flatwater character. A handcrafted gift perfectly suited for Tomahawk area locals, northwoods anglers, and anyone with a deep connection to this one-of-a-kind Wisconsin waterway.

The difference between standard and HD maps is the number of layers. Standard maps have 1 land layer and 7 water layers. The HD lake maps have 1 land layer and 14 water layers. So twice the detail. The HD Maps are limited to Extra Large, XX Large, and Gigantic sizes only. On the smaller sizes the depth change of the wood is too extreme and you end up losing detail.
