Silver Beige Travertine Rectangular Freestanding Bathtub 32x60 Honed

Silver Beige travertine, carved by hand

This freestanding bathtub is carved from solid Silver Beige travertine, quarried in Turkey, and finished by hand. It is a rectangular tub, 32 inches wide, 60 inches long and 22 inches high, with a honed surface that feels soft and matte underfoot. Every piece is cut from its own block of natural stone, so each tub is one of a kind, with earthy tones, delicate veining and the small natural holes that are characteristic of travertine. The stone gives the tub a strong architectural presence in the room.

Earthy tones, honed by hand

Silver Beige travertine has a soft beige ground with subtle earthy tones and delicate veining. The surface shows the stone's characteristic holes and texture, which give it depth up close. A honed finish keeps the surface smooth and matte, inviting to bare feet and free of glare, and it lets the natural variation of the stone show as it is. The rectangular form is simple and architectural, carved by hand from solid stone. Because each tub is cut from natural stone, the tone, veining and texture differ from one piece to the next, and moderate variation is normal for this travertine. It fits warm, natural bathrooms built around wood, linen colors and plaster, and it also sits well in a simple modern room where the stone is the main material on show.

• Honed surface Smooth and matte, soft to the touch and free of glare.
• Natural texture Earthy tones, fine veins and the characteristic holes of travertine.

A compact rectangular soaker

At 60 inches long, 32 inches wide and 22 inches deep, the tub fits rooms where a longer tub would crowd the floor, while still giving the depth for proper immersion and a full fill of water. The walls range from 0.75 to 1.25 inches thick, which gives the tub its durability and keeps the interior generous. Stone holds heat once it is warm, and the weight and density of the travertine support longer soaks with less reheating of the water. The rectangular footprint can sit against a wall, in an alcove sized for it, or free in the room. The tub has a 1.5 inch drain hole for standard plumbing.

• Size 32" W × 60" L × 22" H, rectangular.
• Drain 1.5" drain hole; drain, faucet, overflow and mounting ring sold separately.

Plan for the weight

A solid travertine tub is heavy and needs installation planning. The bathroom floor needs a structural assessment before delivery, since it must carry the tub full of water and in use. The tub travels in a reinforced wooden crate. The drain, faucet, overflow and mounting ring are sold separately, which leaves full control over the fittings, in brass, matte black or any other finish that suits the room. The plumber positions the drain to meet the 1.5 inch opening and runs supply for a floor mounted filler or a wall mounted faucet. Professional installation is recommended.

Why we chose it

• One of a kind Carved from natural travertine, so no two tubs share the same tones and texture.
• Lasting stone A good travertine tub lasts for decades with regular care and develops a natural patina.
• Fits smaller rooms A 60 inch length with a deep 22 inch soak.

Care

Travertine is a porous calcite stone with a honed surface. Acidic products such as vinegar or lemon can etch it, and water left to dry can leave spots. A sealer formulated for natural stone protects it against water and soap, and how often it is reapplied depends on how much the tub is used.
