Troia Light Travertine Console Table with Fluted Legs 16x63 Polished

Light travertine console, fluted legs

This 63 inch console is made from light travertine quarried in Turkey, with a filled and polished finish. The stone carries soft, warm earth tones, and its clean, minimal outline suits the entryways and living rooms it was designed for. It measures 63 inches long, 16 inches wide and 34 inches high. Every piece is handcrafted from solid travertine by stone workers in Turkey rather than built up from laminated panels, so what shows on the surface runs through the piece. Natural variation in the stone means the tone and pattern of each console are unique to it: no two surfaces are identical, and the console that arrives is a piece of one particular block rather than a copy of a design seen in thousands of homes.

Tapered fluted legs in stone

The legs are tapered and fluted, with vertical ribbing cut along their length. That ribbing adds sculptural depth to the base while the overall line stays clean and uncluttered. Raised on these legs, the long top seems to float, which keeps a narrow entry feeling wider and stops a solid stone table from looking heavy. The open space beneath also makes it simple to clean the floor under the console, something easy to overlook in furniture that sits close to the ground. On the top, the filled and polished finish gives a smooth, light-reflecting face: the natural voids in the travertine are filled, then the surface is polished. The fluted base reads as modern design, while the stone itself is a material long used in architecture, so the piece does not feel locked to one moment in design.

• Fluted, tapered legs Vertical ribbing on each leg gives depth to the base and lifts the top visually.
• Filled and polished top Natural voids are filled and the face polished smooth for a level, reflective surface.

A long top for narrow walls

At 63 inches long, the top offers a generous display surface, while the 16 inch depth keeps it close to the wall. That combination suits entryways, hallways and the space behind a sofa, the places where a deeper console turns into an obstacle in the walkway. The 34 inch height sets lamps, vessels and art objects at a comfortable viewing level. The surface can hold a lamp to light the entry, a tray for keys and daily essentials, a few sculptural pieces or a small collection, or nothing at all when an empty run of stone is the look wanted. The light travertine tones sit calmly against crisp white walls, warm beige ones or layered textures, and the piece fits modern, contemporary, traditional and transitional rooms. That range means it keeps working as the rest of the room changes over the years.

• Size 63" L × 16" W × 34" H, filled and polished travertine.
• Where it fits Entry rooms, hallways and living rooms, along a wall or behind a sofa.

Crated delivery, level placement

Solid travertine at this length is a heavy piece, and each console ships in a heavy-duty wooden crate to protect it in transit. Plan for two or more people to uncrate it and carry it into place, and check the route through doors and around corners before delivery. Choose a level floor so the legs bear evenly and the long top sits true. Felt pads or a rug underneath protect wood and tile. Once placed, the console is stable under a lamp, a mirror resting on the top or a full row of objects, and the stone holds its position.

Why we chose it

• Solid Turkish travertine Carved from natural stone, with the same material on the surface and through the piece.
• Sculptural fluted base Tapered, ribbed legs that keep a 63 inch top looking light.
• Made to order Each console is made to order, with custom sizes and finishes available.

Custom lengths

This console is made to order on two schedules. The 3 to 4 week option ships sooner, and the 8 to 14 week option is the lower priced choice for the same size and finish. If 63 inches is more or less than the wall allows, the design can be made in a custom size, and other finishes are available on request. Care

Travertine is a porous calcite stone. On this console the natural voids are filled and the face polished, which gives a smoother, more even surface for an entry. It is still natural stone: acidic liquids can etch the polish and strong pigments can stain it if left to sit. Occasional resealing keeps the surface protected, and how often it is needed depends on how much the console is used.
