Product Description
A Verde Antico marble column
This freestanding pedestal sink is carved from solid Verde Antico marble quarried in Turkey. The stone has a deep green ground with white veining that catches the light from every side, and the color and veining are unique to each block, so every sink is a one-off. The sink is a single round column, 16 inches in diameter and 34 inches tall, with the basin carved into its top. Where a built-in vanity blends into the wall, a pedestal like this stands on its own as the focal point of the room, and its clean silhouette leaves the space around it open.
Classical proportions, modern lines
The column form echoes classical architecture, yet the plain cylinder and the flat top read as clearly modern. That balance is what makes the piece work in a contemporary room as well as a more traditional one. The marble is polished, which deepens the greens and makes the white veins stand out sharply. As light moves through the day, the veining seems to shift, and the stone rewards a closer look each time. White and gray marbles are common in bathrooms; Verde Antico brings depth and drama instead. Moderate variation in color, veining and mineral pattern between pieces is normal, so no two installations look the same.
- Solid column A single round column of marble, 16" across and 34" tall.
- Polished green marble Deep green with white veins, polished to show the full depth of the stone.
Powder rooms, guest baths, boutique spaces
In a small bathroom, a vanity takes up floor and wall space and can look heavy. A pedestal does the opposite: It leaves the floor visible, gives the room breathing space and lets the tile become part of the design. With a footprint only 16 inches across, the column fits where a cabinet would not, and the round shape has no corners to bump into in a tight room. That makes this sink a strong choice for powder rooms, guest bathrooms and boutique hospitality spaces. In a larger primary bath, it works as an architectural anchor next to modern or minimal finishes. Exposed supply lines are part of the look with a pedestal, and paired with brass or satin metal fittings they read as a deliberate detail rather than a compromise.
- Size 16" diameter × 34" H, freestanding.
- Installation Stand-alone pedestal, plumbing from the wall or floor.
A strong floor and planned plumbing
A solid marble column is heavy, so the floor must be level and strong enough to carry it. Plumbing can come from the wall or up through the floor; decide which before the sink is delivered, so the drain and supply lines meet the sink cleanly. With a pedestal, the faucet is often mounted on the wall, so its supply lines need to be placed at the right height before the wall is finished. Because the basin is part of the column, there is no separate top to level later: the sink is set once, plumb and level, and stays that way. Professional installation is recommended, both to support the weight properly and to give the connections a clean finish.
Why we chose it
- Solid marble A single column of stone, made to last for decades rather than to be replaced.
- A distinctive color Deep green Verde Antico that stands apart from white and gray marbles.
- Made to order Each pedestal is made to order, with custom sizes and finishes available.
Made to order
This pedestal is made to order on two schedules. The 3 to 4 week option ships sooner, while the 8 to 14 week option is the lower-priced choice. For architects and designers looking for a specific height, diameter or finish, the column can also be made to order. To discuss a custom piece, contact us with the dimensions needed.
Care
Verde Antico is a porous marble, so acids can etch its polished surface and spills can mark it if left to sit. It is sealed to resist moisture, and how often it is resealed depends on how much the sink is used.
