Waco Lake is a 7,270-acre reservoir on the North Bosque River in McLennan County, Texas, reaching a maximum depth of 103 feet. The lake supports excellent fishing for Largemouth Bass, Striped Bass, Crappie, Catfish, and Bluegill in the rolling Central Texas countryside. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers manages the lake, which also provides flood control and water supply for the Waco metropolitan area.
Waco Lake is located just west of the city of Waco in McLennan County, Central Texas. Waco is home to Baylor University, the Magnolia Market at the Silos — the empire of HGTV stars Chip and Joanna Gaines — and the Dr Pepper Museum. The surrounding McLennan County landscape provides camping, hiking, and outdoor recreation at the lake's parks and the nearby Bosque River valley.
