Waubesa Lake is a 2,095-acre lake in Dane County, Wisconsin, reaching a maximum depth of 33 feet, connected to the Yahara River chain of lakes south of Madison. The lake supports good fishing for Walleye, Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike, Bluegill, and Crappie. Part of the Yahara chain linking Mendota, Monona, Waubesa, and Kegonsa, it provides miles of interconnected boating south toward Stoughton.
Waubesa Lake is located in Dane County just south of Madison, Wisconsin — home of the University of Wisconsin, the State Capitol, and one of the Midwest's most vibrant cities. The surrounding area offers the Capital City State Trail, the Badger State Trail, and the historic communities of McFarland, Monona, and Stoughton. The Madison isthmus between Mendota and Monona remains one of Wisconsin's most iconic lakeside urban landscapes.
