Description
Agave montana is a species of succulent plant that is native to the mountainous regions of central Mexico. This agave species is well-suited to growing in high altitude, cold, and arid environments, where it can tolerate temperatures as low as 10°F and receive moderate to low levels of rainfall. At maturity, Agave montana typically forms a large rosette of fleshy, dark-green leaves that can reach up to 3-4 feet in diameter. Its robust, spiky form makes it a popular choice for xeriscaping, rock gardens, container gardens and other low-maintenance landscaping applications.
