Description
Riverbed Walnut Travertine Tumbled Floor and Wall Tiles deliver a rustic, old-world aesthetic with rounded edges and a ragged, weathered appearance perfect for vintage or antique design schemes. Quarried from the Denizli region of Turkey, this naturally beige travertine with its distinctive porous structure suits both floor and wall applications throughout your home.
- Material Grade: Premium-grade travertine sourced from Denizli, Turkey's most renowned quarries, ensuring superior quality without defects or inconsistencies.
- Finish: Tumbled finish with the most rugged appearance and aged, weathered look, creating authentic character from installation day.
- Available Sizes: Three options to suit your layout—4"x4"x3/8", 6"x6"x3/8", and 4"x8"x3/8" (with metric equivalents 10.1cm x 10.1cm, 15.2cm x 15.2cm, and 10.1cm x 20.3cm).
- Thickness: Consistent 3/8" (1cm) throughout for structural stability and balanced aesthetics.
- Color & Variation: Distinctive cream and brown tones characteristic of Turkish Denizli travertine, with natural color variation adding depth to each installation.
- Density & Durability Factors: Denser tiles offer superior longevity, stain resistance, and wear-tear protection. The stone's porous nature means it can soak up liquids and stain if not sealed properly, though softer varieties develop desirable patina with use.
- Maintenance Requirement: Tumbled travertine hides dirt and wear better because of its texture, making it practical for busy households. Sealing with a heavy-duty sealer prevents moisture absorption and protects porous surfaces.
The tumbled process gives your stone instant history and character that evolves beautifully as your floor ages, becoming truly unique, while the tumbled finish enhances the stone's natural grip, making it ideal for wet areas. Turkish travertine, which was the most widely used building block in construction of historical buildings in ancient Roman cities, brings enduring elegance to contemporary spaces. The natural color palette and textured surface create visual interest without requiring elaborate patterns, while natural finishes like tumbled are more resilient to damage and less likely to show nicks and scratches than polished tiles. When properly sealed, these tiles become stain-resistant and maintain their rustic charm for decades.
