Blue that came out of a kiln
Blue is the colour people most often regret in paint, because it shifts as the light changes and fades on a sunny wall. Fired into a glaze it does neither: what leaves the kiln is what stays. The tile carries no pattern, which puts all the weight on the colour and on where the pieces end up. A glossy face throws light around, so a blue reads deeper in a corner than it does beside a window, and the same box can look like two colours in one room. Eight inches square is a large piece for an accent, so a single tile already counts for something and three or four in a row make a deliberate band rather than a scattering.

Shower walls
Shower walls carries the rating, and kitchen is the room noted against it. Accent tiles ceramic blue usually go into a plain field as a row or a handful of scattered pieces, though twelve boxes would carry a full 60 square feet if that were the plan. A snap cutter deals with ceramic, no wet saw required. This one is not rated for floors. Set them into a plain field and the grout colour decides how hard the blue reads against what surrounds it.
