Cordova hand painted cuerda seca tile — an intricate Spanish-inspired pattern evoking the Moorish geometric elegance of Córdoba's Islamic architecture and tile traditions. Rich jewel tones and complex interlocking motifs create a sophisticated, museum-quality aesthetic. Part of our San Luis Obispo (SLO) collection, this tile features the distinctive raised ridges and three-dimensional texture created by the traditional cuerda seca glazing method.
Each tile is individually hand crafted using the cuerda seca technique, where molten wax separates glaze colors before firing. The result is a tactile surface with an interplay of matte and glossy finishes that defines authentic Malibu style tilework. Cordova is a powerful statement tile, ideal for fireplace surrounds, accent walls in dining rooms, or as a focal point installation that demands admiration and complements traditional and eclectic design schemes.
Available in 2", 4.25", and 6" sizes. Every tile is handmade and unique. All handmade Mexican products are rustic in nature and subject to variation in shape, size, and color.
