The DNR currently stocks the lake with Walleye fingerlings in odd-numbered years to maintain healthy populations, with recent surveys showing average fish length of 20.3 inches and most fish exceeding 15 inches, plus exceptional spring electrofishing catches at 12.3 fish per hour averaging 16.2 inches. This productive fishery supports abundant Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike averaging 22.6 inches with 56 percent within the 22-to-26-inch protected slot, Black Crappie, Bluegill, Yellow Perch, Pumpkinseed, Carp, and multiple bullhead species including Black, Brown, and Yellow Bullhead, plus Bowfin creating a diverse ecosystem. The lake features aquatic vegetation and varied habitat structure perfect for year-round fishing success.
