Description
This is the Essence California Gold Mosaic H, 12x12 in a slate face. Essence keeps the cleft texture of slate and drops the flaking that comes with the real stone.
A cleft slate face gives grip underfoot, which is why slate ends up in entries and mudrooms in the first place. The pieces come mesh mounted in the H pattern, so the spacing stays even and a sheet can be cut to follow a fall to the drain.
The body is 9 mm and the edges are rectified, so it lays with a tight grout joint. The surface is matte. It is sold by the box, 4.84 sq ft per box and 5 pieces in it.
It is made in the United States, at Landmark's Mount Pleasant plant in Tennessee.
