Description
This is the Essence Mariposa Slate tile, 3x12 in a slate face. Essence keeps the cleft texture of slate and drops the flaking that comes with the real stone.
Slate is split rather than sawn, so its face has a shallow cleft texture, and that texture is pressed into this tile. Use it across kitchens, bathrooms and open living areas, on the floor or up the wall.
The body is 9 mm and the edges are rectified, so it lays with a tight grout joint. The surface is matte. It is sold by the box, 3.26 sq ft per box and 15 pieces in it.
It is made in the United States, at Landmark's Mount Pleasant plant in Tennessee.
