Description
This is the Essence Montauk Grey Mosaic Chevron 3d, in a slate face. Essence keeps the cleft texture of slate and drops the flaking that comes with the real stone.
A cleft slate face gives grip underfoot, which is why slate ends up in entries and mudrooms in the first place. The pieces come mesh mounted in the CHEVRON pattern, so the spacing stays even and a sheet can be cut to follow a fall to the drain.
The body is 9 mm and the edges are rectified, so it lays with a tight grout joint. The surface is matte. It is sold by the box, 2.64 sq ft per box and 5 pieces in it.
It is made in the United States, at Landmark's Mount Pleasant plant in Tennessee.
