Description
This is the Essence Montauk Grey Mosaic D, in a slate face. Essence keeps the cleft texture of slate and drops the flaking that comes with the real stone.
A cleft slate face gives grip underfoot, which is why slate ends up in entries and mudrooms in the first place. Mesh backing holds the layout in the D cut, which is what makes a mosaic practical on a shower floor or a backsplash.
The body is 9 mm and the edges are rectified, so it lays with a tight grout joint. The surface is matte. One box covers 4.84 sq ft, 5 pieces.
It is made in the United States, at Landmark's Mount Pleasant plant in Tennessee.
