Lac Vieux Desert is a 4,207-acre lake straddling Vilas County, Wisconsin and Gogebic County, Michigan, reaching a maximum depth of 21 feet. The lake is the source of the Wisconsin River and supports excellent fishing for Walleye, Muskie, Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike, Panfish, and Crappie. Its remote setting and historical significance as the Wisconsin River headwaters make it one of the most distinctive lakes in the Upper Midwest.
Lac Vieux Desert straddles the Wisconsin-Michigan state line, accessible from the communities of Land O' Lakes, WI and Watersmeet, MI. The HD Maps are limited to Extra Large, "XX Large, and Gigantic sizes only. On the smaller sizes the depth change of the wood is too extreme and you end up losing detail.
