Malaga hand painted cuerda seca tile — inspired by the vibrant coastal spirit of Málaga, Spain, this design captures Mediterranean warmth and Andalusian charm in rich, jewel-toned glazes. Complex patterning and layered color create a sophisticated, cultured aesthetic that speaks to global design appreciation. Part of our San Luis Obispo (SLO) collection, this tile features the distinctive raised ridges and three-dimensional texture created by the traditional cuerda seca glazing method.
Each tile is individually hand crafted using the cuerda seca technique, where molten wax separates glaze colors before firing. The result is a tactile surface with an interplay of matte and glossy finishes that defines authentic Malibu style tilework. Malaga is ideal for creating a stunning kitchen backsplash, a dramatic bathroom feature wall, or sophisticated accent installations that evoke European travel and worldly design sensibility.
Available in 2", 4.25", and 6" sizes. Every tile is handmade and unique. All handmade Mexican products are rustic in nature and subject to variation in shape, size, and color.
