Pink under a gloss
Pink changes character more than most colours depending on what light hits it, and a glossy glaze exaggerates that: warm under a lamp, cooler by a window, and different again against a white field or a dark one. The tile itself carries no pattern, so everything depends on the colour and on where the pieces go. Fired glaze means the shade will not drift over time, which matters for a colour people commit to slowly. Eight inches square also means fewer joints across a band than a small tile would give, so the colour arrives as a block rather than as a grid of it.
