San Luis Obispo hand painted cuerda seca tile — the namesake design of our SLO collection, showcasing a beautifully intricate pattern in traditional blue and white tones with warm accents. The cuerda seca technique creates raised ridges between each color field, giving this tile its signature three-dimensional texture and the classic look of authentic Malibu style tilework.
Each tile is individually hand crafted using the traditional cuerda seca method, where molten wax separates glaze colors before firing. The result is a tactile, multi-dimensional surface with an interplay of matte and glossy finishes. The San Luis Obispo pattern is a versatile centerpiece for kitchen backsplashes, bathroom walls, entryway accents, and decorative installations throughout the home.
Available in 2", 4.25", and 6" sizes. Every tile is handmade and unique. All handmade Mexican products are rustic in nature and subject to variation in shape, size, and color.
