Shawano Lake in Shawano County, Wisconsin

This lake has 8 Layers or 15 Layers for HD Version

Shawano Lake is a 6,215-acre hard water drainage lake in northeastern Wisconsin's Shawano County, featuring 18 miles of scenic shoreline, an average depth of 9 feet, and reaching a maximum depth of 42 feet near its deepest areas. Named after Chief Sawanoh, a Menominee Indian chief who camped with his tribes along these shores, the lake is fed by multiple inlets and maintained by a dam on the Wolf River that regulates water levels. This warm water fishery hosts exceptional populations of Walleye, Northern Pike, Musky, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Black Crappie, Bluegill, Yellow Perch, and Pumpkinseed, with annual stocking programs maintaining healthy Musky populations and a successful Walleye spawning reef established in the mid-1980s. The lake serves as an important resting stop for migrating waterfowl including American White Pelicans and Tundra Swans, while providing year-round recreation including fishing tournaments, boating with no horsepower restrictions, swimming, water skiing, ice fishing, and winter ice racing events.

Located adjacent to the city of Shawano and just 30 minutes north of Green Bay, Shawano Lake offers convenient access to northeastern Wisconsin's attractions and natural wonders. The surrounding area features the 15,000-acre Navarino State Wildlife Area, one of Wisconsin's premier wildlife viewing destinations with 101 bird species including Sandhill Cranes and Bald Eagles. Visitors can enjoy the 83-mile Mountain-Bay State Trail, whitewater rafting on the Wolf River, and viewing the nation's largest lake sturgeon migration at Sturgeon Park each spring. Shawano Lake County Park provides a sandy swimming beach, four-ramp boat launch, camping facilities, and extensive recreational amenities, while the area offers golfing, hiking, biking, and three nearby casinos for additional entertainment.

This magnificent laser-cut wooden topographical map of Shawano Lake would create a stunning centerpiece in your lakeside cottage, family room, or office, celebrating your connection to this northeastern Wisconsin gem. The artistic design showcases a natural wood top layer elegantly framing the lake's distinctive shape and 18 miles of intricate shoreline detail, while the water depths are beautifully represented through a captivating gradient flowing from light blue in the shallow 9-foot average areas to rich deep blue at the impressive 42-foot maximum depth. Every contour and shoreline feature is precisely laser-etched into the layered wood construction, creating a three-dimensional work of art that captures the essence and character of this beloved fishing and recreation destination.
