Description
Intro
Shore Seekers is a game where players use addition and multiplication to determine how far their turtles will swim as they seek the perfect spot on the shore to lay their eggs. This island-themed math game is a great way for early elementary kids to practice addition and early multiplication, with a turtle migration theme throughout gameplay.
Features
- Addition Practice: Players roll up to three dice, one at a time, adding the revealed numbers with the goal of reaching a sum equal to or less than seven.
- Multiplication Skills: Players multiply the dice total by the number of dice rolled (for example: rolling two dice that show 2 and 4, then adding 2+4=6, then multiplying 6x2=move 12 spaces).
- Risk Management: Players must make decisions about whether or not to take a chance on another roll to move forward and gain more points, or stay where they are and not risk their turtle returning to the coral reef.
- Egg Collection Objective: Each time a player's turtle lands on or passes the entrance to the nesting site, they collect a card that adds eggs to their turtle's nest; when all cards have been collected, the player with the most eggs wins.
- Family-Friendly Play: The game accommodates 2–7 players with approximately 30 minute playtime and is designed for ages 7 and up.
