Walter F. George Reservoir is a 45,181-acre impoundment of the Chattahoochee River on the Alabama-Georgia border in Barbour County, Alabama, reaching a maximum depth of 90 feet. Also known as Lake Eufaula, it is one of the Southeast's premier Largemouth Bass fisheries, regularly producing tournament-winning bass, and also supports excellent Striped Bass, Crappie, Catfish, and Bream fishing throughout the year.
Walter F. George Reservoir stretches along the Alabama-Georgia border near the city of Eufaula, Alabama — a beautifully preserved antebellum town listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Eufaula offers outstanding lakeside dining, the Shorter Mansion museum, and the Tom Mann's Fish World aquarium. The surrounding Wiregrass region provides additional recreation including hunting and Fort Gaines Historic Site in Georgia.
