Strong colour in a wet room
Paint gives up in a shower. A fired glaze does not: the yellow is glass over clay, it does not fade in daylight and it takes nothing up from the water running over it. The tile is logged as a solid colour with no pattern, so the interest has to come from where it is placed rather than from what is on it. Eight inches square is large for an accent, big enough that two or three pieces already register as a decision. Gloss also reports the wall behind it, so a substrate that waves will show in the reflection once a light is on it.

Accent tiles ceramic pieces normally go into a plain field, a band at eye level or a handful scattered through it, though twelve boxes would carry a whole run to 60 square feet. Ceramic tiles for bathroom work snap cleanly with a hand cutter, which is worth something around a mixer and a shower niche. It is not rated for floors, and the body of a glazed ceramic takes up more water than porcelain does.
